Planting Hay

My boys planting this year's hay.

Ed's out planting the open field today in wheat and oat seed for horse and rabbit hay.  Hasn't been much rain this season, but we are hoping it arrives now that we have the crop planted!

Straight rows with the beds furrowed up (60 inch spacing) allow us to irrigate when we don't get enough rain.  In Vernalis we usually only see 8 inches of rain per year.

Showmanship

I've shown a lot of different spiecies, other than rabbits.  Here is a quick look at some of the other critters I raised and exhibited...

Red Bluff Show 2011

Dannie Zane took Pictures for us at the Red Bluff Show.

She captured the Best in Show winners for the Saturday's show awards.

Here is a quick one she snapped of Lena with her Jr. Doe, Juliet.

In Show D, Sunday,  Russell (Californian) and Lena (Himalayan) won Youth Best in Show and Reserve in Show.  How often do siblings win both on the same day, at the same show?

The Satin Club... My Friends and Family.

So glad you were all there to help run this successful show!

Russell won Best in Show Youth at CRCS on Sunday in Red Bluff, California.

This is his first BIS with his Californians.  CD1 is 8 months old and she was 3rd place single fryer for him at the Stanislaus County Fair last summer.  Russell is glad he decided to keep this one!

This November I had the privilege of judging Tans at the ARBA Convention.

It is always an honor to be asked to judge at this prestigious event.

The Tan is a lively little rabbit with beautiful markings and striking color!
